Dream Symbols of the Month (January 2005)
Common dream symbols and some possible meanings:
Teeth falling out- is a sign of the next stage of maturity. When we are young we lose all our teeth and we do the same as we age into seniors , so it is a common symbol of moving into the next stage of growth such as "growing pains". It is a sense of loss.
Hair- most often has to do with your thoughts on self image. It is your attitudes. Balding is a sense of aging or getting old.
Wolf- can depict a feeling that things are out to get you, but most often the wolf is just "fear".
Knife- if used to stab someone, could mean you are attempting to wound someone usually verbally or through your actions. If being threatened by a knife then it is someone else who has hurt you.
Web- usually a sticky situation you feel caught up in.
Poison- A warning to avoid something that is not good for you.
Being lost- depicts confusion, loss of motivation or ability to make clear decisions .
A Wall- Codes of behavior, belief systems, attitudes often unconscious. These are boundaries you live within or protect yourself by. They can be barriers and restrictions you put upon yourself.
Basement or cellar- usually things we have hidden from awareness in our unconscious. It can be a repressed part of self. Frequently it is a place we keep traumatic events in our life.
Water- Our emotions, moods and flow of feeling energy. For instance we can feel like we are drowning in emotion or being swept away. Other times it can be refreshing.
